| Many hybrid vehicles come with hybrid air conditionings compressors which are belt driven by the vehicle's engine when it is running, or turned by a small electric motor when the vehicle is in idle-stop (the gasoline powered engine shuts off at a stoplight or in stop-and-go traffic). Other hybrid vehicles have entirely electric-driven A/C compressors which do not rely on being belt-driven by the gasoline engine |
